Office hours :     Thursdays, 3 - 4 pm

The weekly Tutorial/ Labs take place on Wednesdays 9-10 AM (for section A) and 10-11 AM (for section B). These sessions are taught in Computer Labs in MSRC Building (Math and Statistics Resource Center).

Tutorials involve working on the assignment for the week: collecting data from various sources like CANSIM, OECD.STAT ; converting it to XLS ; using Excel to perform various calculations and analysis.

• You might need to connect to UBC VPN or use the proxy in order to access the datasources from library website. Please follow the instructions on library or ITServices website.


• Some of you have complained about not being able to convert the Data set for assignment #5 to XLS. I have already explained it in the class, but here it is.

I will be posting a link to check your assignment marks soon. You should make sure that marks (both assignments and mid-term) have been recorded properly. In case of any discrepancies, please inform me during the tutorials or email me with your student number.
